The Dubai Media City was launched in 2001 to attract advertising, communication, marketing, and media companies to Dubai, thereby establishing it as regional creative hub. Today, the city has 20,000 people working in 2,000 international and regional media companies.

Locus Economic Director Santosh Hejmadi served as Director of Marketing for the Dubai Media City from 2003-2007. During that time, he was responsible for the worldwide promotion of the city, including initiatives such as the Dubai International Film Festival and the International Media Production Zone.

Since leaving the Dubai Media City, Santosh has leveraged this experience to consult on the marketing strategies and implementation tools for Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce and on World Bank projects in Botswana, Bangladesh, China, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Palestine, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

Prior to the Dubai Media City, Santosh was the Marketing Coordinator for the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
